Instead of brackets bonded to the tooth, dental treatment is mapped out through a series of plastic dental trays designed to move the teeth in incremental movements over weeks.
Pros
- Virtually invisible
- No irritation to gums or tongue
- Removable for short periods of time
- Can eat anything (no foods to stay away from)
Cons
- More expensive
- Trays must be cleaned regularly
- Have to take out trays every time to eat and drink (non-water)
- Not an option for severe orthodontic treatment
